Mi Town, Isabela

I arrived at at Isabela when two days old, to a house in the Otero sector at the center of town. From Otero I moved to the town's north, Los Pinos sheet, where I have lived during the last 20 years and where all my youth's memories are found.

The home of Indian chief Mabodamaca, the town began away from the coast, where the waters of the river  Rio Guajataca starts its journey, until it crosses the town towards its destination, the Atlantic Ocean.

It was fond in1819, and since then it is a depository of anthropological priceless treasures, like the Hermita San Antonio de la Tuna ruin, where the town's history began.

Her beaches are a dream, her people friendly and energetic.

She is proud of her prodigies such as Manuel Corchado y Juarbe, Noel Estrada, the famous composer, the singer Víctor Mannuelle, just to name a few.

The town plaza, the Hermanas Dominícas convent, Colegio San Antonio with its theater Anfiteatro Sister Ida Negrón, the biggest in the area, Jobos Beach, the legendary Pozo de  Jacinto, the Guajataca forest, her barrios full of tropical vegetation are, like everything at Isabela, worthy of admiration and respect.

I invite all to visit my town, a town that while jealously preserving its history has made significant progress in providing everyday comforts that complement her characteristic beauty... Isabela, Garden of the Northeast. City of good things.
